Welcome to CareEpilepsy!

We are a UK-registered charity (1151942) dedicated to raising awareness about epilepsy and providing essential support, particularly for ethnically diverse communities in the UK. Stigma and language barriers often make it difficult for people to access the help they need, understand their care in hospitals, and learn about epilepsy. We strive to bridge this gap by offering epilepsy education, emotional support, and resources tailored to diverse linguistic and cultural needs.

Our organization is deeply committed to collaborating with community groups and healthcare organizations to increase awareness and access to epilepsy education, particularly in ethnic minority communities. To address language barriers, we provide educational materials in multiple languages and develop targeted programs that ensure individuals and families can better understand their condition and advocate for their care. Through these efforts, we aim to build a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone affected by epilepsy.

At CareEpilepsy UK, we envision a world where individuals with epilepsy, especially those from ethnic minority backgrounds, receive the support, resources, and understanding they need to lead fulfilling lives. We are committed to breaking down cultural stigma and language barriers, ensuring that epilepsy is understood by all.

Our vision extends beyond the UK, as we actively support CareEpilepsy Ethiopia by providing expert guidance, medical resources, diagnostics, and financial aid to improve epilepsy care in low-resource settings. We are also dedicated to advocating for better epilepsy treatment globally and supporting research to develop more effective solutions for those living with this condition.

As part of our mission to empower individuals with epilepsy and foster inclusive, informed communities that respects the rights and needs of people living with epilepsy, we focus on addressing the significant social stigma surrounding epilepsy. Our work includes a wide range of initiatives, including public education, advocacy for policy change, and providing emotional support through peer networks, and support groups.
